About Oslo Freight
Book Oslo Freight services to Copenhagen, Frederikshaven or Hirtshals in Denmark. Book a Oslo Freight ferry crossing with DFDS Seaways or Color Line on AFerry Freight .co.uk.
One of the oldest cities of Europe, Oslo, is the capital of Norway and is the natural hub of Norway's national and international travel. It was founded by the Vikings in the year 1050. The sea and the strategic and protected location has no doubt played a major role in its foundation.
Nowadays the multipurpose port of Oslo is strategically located at the top of the 100 km long Oslofjord - right in the middle of the most industrialized and populated areas of Norway and is one of the worlds leading maritime centers. With excellent transport connections by sea, land and rail to the rest of the country, the Port of Oslo enjoys a position as the leading general cargo port of Norway. Daily connections to continental ports and overseas destinations make the Port of Oslo the ideal port for business to and from Norway.
Getting There by road
COLOR LINE TERMINAL:
The Color Line terminal in Oslo is located at Hjortneskai, about four kilometres from the city centre.
If you are approaching from the south on the E18, follow this road past Sjolyst and the small boat harbour on your right. Follow the signs for Hjortneskaien, Kiel/Hirthals. If you are approaching from the north on the E6 follow this road through the city centre to Festningstunell, and from here follow the signs for Drammen on the E18. When you get to Oslotunnell, follow the signs for Hjortnes/Ferry to the quayside.
DFDS SEAWAYS TERMINAL:
Coming from Mosseveien or the North
Follow the E6 towards "Oslo S" / Oslo Sentrum until you see a road sign with a ferry symbol and the names "Kobenhavn", "Helsingborg" and "Fredrikshavn". Continue in this direction until you reach a large roundabout above the E6. Keep left at the roundabout and continue to follow the road sign to the ferries. Soon you will pass a big pink building on your right hand side and then you will approach a new roundabout.
Passengers travelling with a vehicle who have a prepaid ticket may drive straight over the roundabout towards the signs "bil innsjekk"/car check-in" for Kobenhavn/Copenhagen and Helsingborg.
Coming from Drammensveien:
Follow the E18 towards "Oslo S" / Oslo Sentrum, pass Colorline's terminal - "Hjortneskaia" and go through the tunnel - "Festningstunnellen". Keep right and exit by the ferry sign. After the tunnel, keep left and turn left at the crossroads at the end of the tunnel towards "Vippetangen".
Passengers traveling with a vehicle who have a prepaid the ticket may keep to the left, and go "back" the same direction as where you came from in a parallel street. (Do not turn in towards the ferry terminal) Continue about 150 m and take right in the roundabout towards bil innsjekk" / "car-check-in" for Kobenhavn/Copenhagen and Helsingborg.
STENA LINE TERMINAL:
Same directions as for DFDS Seaways Terminal, but follow the signs for Frederikshavn.
