A new ferry terminal has been constructed after earlier abortive attempts and the new ferry operator Pentland Ferries offers a complete service for freight, vehicles and passengers from 1 June 2001. Pentland Ferries connect the ferry port of Gills Bay in the north of Scotland with St Margaret's Hope. Sailings departing up-to three times daily.
